TO OUR FRIENDS IN CANADA:  We recently have experienced a huge interest in buying new Saturns from our store.  Unfortunately, it is against our agreement with General Motors to sell vehicles to residents of Canada who intend to import them into the country.  We are certainly not experts at the process of getting any car imported to Canada, but we DO have a huge selection of pre-owned vehicles that you may be able to buy and import (check with your federal & local regulations!)  that can save you significantly over the same vehicle purchased in Canada.   Please feel free to browse our used inventory and email us with any questions.  Also, here for clarification purposes, is Saturn's official memo to all dealers here in the Northeast:

"Recently, several Saturn Retailers have been contacted by customers residing in Canada to purchase GM vehicles in the United States.  The majority of these calls are coming through the Internet Sales Department within the retail facilities.  This is understandable because of the Canadian dollar value versus the United States dollar value.  

RETAILERS  CAN NOT SELL VEHICLES TO CUSTOMERS RESIDING IN CANADA BECAUSE IT IS CONSIDERED AN EXPORT.

Border Patrols are requesting an Emission & Safety Compliance Certificate on all new and unused vehicles entering Canada.  This certificate is required for titling and registration purposes in Canada.  If the new  and unused vehicle does not have this certificate, it is not allowed to enter Canada.  This certificate is generated by GM of Canada on all 2007 and 2008 model Canadian manufactured GM vehicles.

Please advise all of your facility team members of these important restrictions.
